A jewel of past italian architecture with its magical atmosphere and elegance, the Borgo will move you into another world. The expertly restored village consists of several evocative rooms and private apartments for an unforgettable experience. The garden, the square, the courtyard, and the different interior rooms with unique different floor plans all contribute to the harmony spell. Inside the residence, a small baroque church decorated with fine stucco, perfect for religious weddings.
The surrounding farm, located at an altitude of about 450 meters above sea level, covers 270 acres, it is situated at the foot of Mount Tezio, among olive trees, vineyards, forests and fields adding to the magic of the Borgo self. The olives are harvested by hand and are pressed the same day, to maximize the organoleptic properties of the product. The cold pressing occurs exclusively in a traditional mill, with a granite grinding stone, which allows the oil to maintain a cloudy appearance, a dark green color with some gold nuances and a delicately fruity flavor.
The white wine varieties are Chardonnay, crossed with the Manzoni Pinot Blanc grape and the Malvasia grapes, the latter used for a small production of Vino Santo, prepared by the family for over a hundred years. The red wine is produced with the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grape. The harvest is entirely manual.
To add more to the magic, Borgo Colognola can arrange a guided tour of the farm and wineries, with food and wine tasting and if that is not enough you can bake your own bread in a 17th century oven.
Horse riding, trekking and guided tours of Mount Tezio are available. Golf and various watersports like windsurfing, wakeboarding.at nearby Lake Trasimeno can also be organized.
The size of the Borgo, the many areas and private apartments it provides make it the perfect location for business events, weddings and medieval entertaining evenings or a simple sojourn in Umbria.
